So, I haven't really thought of this until recently, but beer really has had an impact on my life outside of it being a wonderful elixir and mood elevator.

But often when I am feeling homesick I find myself drinking more Shiner Bock. Coming from Texas this was THE beer that people who were leaning towards more craft beer (although i wouldn't really call it a craft beer, but still delicious) drank this. It was the beer my dad drank later in his life, and it was the beer my friends drank when we were in college, where it was remarkably cheap and wonderful.

As well, as i brewed my first batch, the smell of the malt and grains brought me back to the several tours of the Coors brewery that i took as a child. (Dad's favorite beer when i was younger, and had an aunt who lived near Golden, CO).

anyways, just kind of rambling, again.
