You don't even need to sanitize it -- it will be exposed to boiling temperatures, after all. I'd just make sure it's clean.
 
Fill it with water and boil it, then do not scrub off the gray oxidation. The gray is what keeps the aluminum flavor out of the wort, and is really somewhat like the coating of cookpots.
 
Thats what I was looking for, I know SS has to be passivated and read something about alum. somewhere but couldnt remember what or where. thanks!
 
My turkey fryer pot turned a dark grey when I did the initial boil. One thing I would reccomend would be to boil as full as you can get the pot.

Eventually I will properly anodize the inside of the pot.
