I burnt the bejeezus out of my LME and now have a nice black layer of carbon tightly adhered to the bottom of my aluminum brewpot. What's the easiest way to clean it?

See this mess???

This is from my grocery and produce experiment from a few months back....

I found that for even the most stubborn scorch marks, that an extremely fine 3m wet/dry sanding sponge took off the burn without scratching the aluminum....

This is what I'm talking about....

Scrub off as much as you can with a scrub pad then fill the pot with a couple inches of water. Add 1/4 to a half cup of baking soda to the pot and bring it to a boil. Once it gets to a good boil, take it off the heat and let it set for an hour and add a cup of vinegar and bring that to a boil as well and remove it from the heat and cool. It should scrub right off.
