we had kegged a dunkelweizen lets say a month ago. everything was great, nice head and carbination. 2 weeks ago we keg a red ale and a wheat. since then the d.weizen, just the d, has started having tons of foam.

current pressue is 13psi.

just coincidence that it started right after the second and third keg were added?

:mug:

Are you starting to run out of the dunkelweizen? Adding other kegs and splitting the pressure with a manifold shouldn't affect the beer coming out of your tap, but you could try disconnecting the other two kegs for a bit and see if the foaming subsides.

so running low on the d.weizen would possibly be the cause of the foam? we have been tapping that one just a bit, really turned out nice.

if yes to the running low question; is suddenly more foam a sign that a keg is getting low?

If the dip tube isn't fully submersed in beer then you'll be sucking up CO2 + beer and get foam, it won't happen for many pulls though...

duh - makes sense. thinking that running low isn't our problem then. have pulled several pints with the foam issue.

maybe we'll try shutting the other 2 down and see if anything changes. thanks for the input.

i don't know, do i?
I don't know either, but I wouldn't keg without them. First off, beer has the potential to back up through your regulator, screwing it up. Second, pressure from one keg can bleed from one keg to another. Third, nasties (if you somehow get an infected batch) can travel from one keg to another.

But the reason I asked was if you had force carbed one keg at a higher pressure it may have bled into your dunkelweizen. Since you didn't do that, it's less of an issue.

Seperate regulators for each keg or a manifold?

Edit:
Most good quality shut-off valves have check valves built in.
Do you have shut-off valves for each keg?
