Hi

I'm doing a typical pale cream ale, (OG 1052) and I'm questionning my self if I should do a starter for my yeast or not.

This is a Safale US - 05 dry yeast.

And If I should, do you think it a problem to use withe sugar to start the yeast, I only have this !

Many thanks

No, with a package of dry yeast you'll be fine with that beer.

With dry yeast, a starter isn't necessary. You can rehydrate the yeast according to the package directions for best results.

yeah, i keep reading both here and on other websites that because of the way dry yeast is made, it works best just left dry, and if you want to make a bigger starter just use two dry packets

+1 what yooperbrew said, you can rehydrate if you want to, but don't worry about a starter for that beer. You should be fine.

Good luck!
