I am brewing my first porter right now, it's been in the primary for about a week, but my problem is, is that it has (not a whole lot, but enough to make me wanna post this) some grainy pieces in it. How can I get rid of this, will secondary ferm clear this, or is there a filtering technique?

i had something like that in my coffee porter i just brewed , it drop in the second ferm , i added some cold brew coffe at bottling time and it came out good ,

Leave your beer in primary for about 3 weeks total, and simple gravity should pull and solidify those flakes down into the yeast cake. Then, when you rack to your bottling bucket, be careful to rack just above the yeast cake to minimize any of that trub making it into the final product.
