How have your bourbon barrel brews worked out?

I'm thinking the next beer on my brewing list is going to be some kind of bourbon barrel beer. I've seen quite a few bourbon barrel (bb) porter recipes out there, but has anybody added the bb flavor to anything else? Also, my plan so far is to soak oak cubes in bourbon for maybe a week before brewing. Would it be fine to toss these in the primary?
 
I have a russian imperial stout that is aging on bourbon soaked oak chips. It is in secondary and more than likely transfering to tertiary in the next couple days to get it off the oak.
