I have a 20 gallon ss pot and would like to go electric. How cheap can I do this? Dose homedepot sell the parts?

look through the build posts - people are using hot water heater elements and any number of other parts - you could probably buy everything you need at home depot but you would have to have a clearly defined idea of what you want to build.

I don't use hot water heater parts, just regular water heater parts. I've never needed to heat hot water. :fro:

If using 110v you can build a 3,300 watt kettle for less than $70.00

$30.00 (2) 1,650 low density elements
$20.00 (2) Appliance cords
$5.00 (2) 1" PVC threaded couplings and threaded caps
$10.00 Stainless washers and Silicone O-rings

Or a 220v for cheaper
$20.00 5000w element
$10.00 Range cord
$10.00 Metal WP box and covers
$5.00 Stainless washers and Silicone O-rings
