Anyone ship their.....special cooking sauces... to Canada, or from Canada to the US? I've got a friend in BC i want to ship to but i'm worried that somewhere at the border it will get opened and gone through.

Thoughts?

I have shipped to the US for beer competitions. It is a pain. I had to register as an exporter to ship 'home-made brewing yeast samples for evaluation'. There are some funny laws about such stuff.

Shipping alcoholic beverages isn't necessarily illegal (provided you have a courier that will accept it), but you need to jump through some ridiculous hoops, permits and declarations. Your best bet is to call it yeast samples or home-made craft products, or something, and hope for the best. I suspect that at worst, your beer will get confiscated at the border.
