I still have some Wyeast 3711 (French Saison) yeast and was wondering if its better to harvest one of my batches (2nd gen) or to just grow it. Which one of the two would be healthier?

My problem with harvesting is that sometimes this strain leaves a lot of junk on top of the wort -

I had to dump the last batch because it had a lot more than the picture shows.

How would I go about growing large amounts of yeast? I am talking at least 10 batches worth of beer. I do have a stir plate but never did any large growing, only enough for starters.

Oooooh for that amount harvesting will prob. Be Easyier. Just Wash the yeast out of the trub. The yeast washing stickey is very informative.

I might end up harvesting one of my future batches, as long as they are clean without the white stuff in the pic above.
