I got my new counterflow chiller today. My new setup will be pretty much all TC fittings, so I paid the extra to get the chiller with the TC fittings. And to be honest I am a little disapointed. The weld of the fitting to the chiller doesnt look great.

See photo http://www.flickr.com/photos/jungle_zac/7451499950/

Where the chiller meets the TC fitting on the end there are some smallish holes/pockets and one big gap a bit futher down.

Not exactly ideal.

Any suggestions on ways to improve this? Sending it back to the vendor isnt an option due to international shipping costs (I live in Peru). I know if I clean it properly and run some star san through it before each use it should be ok. However I would prefer it to be smooth no holes etc. Ideas? Can I just try and file it down a bit? That might take care of the small holes, but I am not sure about the bigger gap.

Any suggestions?
Zac
