I am brewing a batch of beer this weekend that normally has a pound of aromatic malt in the 6 gallon recipe. It is my customized version of BM Oktoberfast. Problem is both LHBS near me are out/stoppped stocking the stuff.

I love it to give the beer an over the top malty goodness, and am trying to figure out a way to replace some of that maltyness that I am losing.

Anyone have any ideas? Victory or Biscuit are what I am thinking about falling back to but I am not sure!

It's not a perfect sub, but biscuit or victory will work. What about melanoidin malt?

Should have mentioned melanoidan...one LHBS has never carried and the other I need to call again to ask. Both were closed today so I couldn't even call.

I use a lot of munich in my recipe so I am not too worried about it, but it would be nice to get as close to aromatic as I can.

Thanks Yoop!

melanoidan malt is basically aromatic with a touch more mallard notes. That would be the perfect sub if you can't get aromatic.
