I made a 1.5 l starter last night with WLP001 slightly outdated 2/3/13. Put it on the stir plate in a flask at midnight and just realized after 7 hrs that I left the cover (sanitized tin foil) off the flask. This was in modern kitchen with house temp about 66 degrees. What are the odds that it will be so contaminated that I will get poor flavor? Would you go ahead and use it or throw it out and start over? It is for a 5 gallon IPA with OG 1.05

I personally would just use it. Up to you. If you have fast fermentation you should be able to keep anything that may have fallen in from taking off and taking over your yeast.
