HELLO ALL!!! Ok, here's what my buddy has done...

7lbs amber malt extract
2oz cascade whole hops 6.5% @60min
1oz cascade whole hops 6.5% @5min
1oz cascade whole hops 6.5% @1min
WYeast 1019 london ale(i think, i'll check later and edit)
1oz of licorice you buy at brew store. it was the $2.25 one

he added the licorice at the beginning of the boil when you dissolve the extract. Had such a faint licorice flavor.... well he wants more. He has 1oz of Anise. VERY pungent!!!!! how much should he use to get more of a licorice flavor without making your head EXPLODE from licorice flavor? .5oz? .25oz? Think he'll add it to the secnodary fermenter in a few weeks, figured i'd come see if i couldn't get an idea from you guys on how powerful the stuff is before he just dumps the whole thing in. :drunk:

add the licorice flavoring at bottling or kegging time and not during the boil. it will go much farther. :tank:
