A question about bottles

it's a friend of yours that has empty 40's, right? :D
 
From all the threads I've read here ,there are at least two good reasons.
1. with out a bench capper you most likely won't get good seals on the caps.
2. The twist off bottles are made of thinner glass than the pry offs. Greater risk off exploding bottles.

40s use a threaded metal cap that is reusable, like a soda bottle.
 
:eek: Guess it's been a long time since I bought a 40.(25 + years) If they seal tight and are thick enough to withstand the carbonation ...then go ahead and use them.
 
Personally, I wouldn't bottle my beer in them because it's a waste having to pour some out on the curb every time I open one. :D
