Just made my third batch of this stout. Should be better than the last when it didn't finish low enough but was still an outstanding brew.

Old Glory Stout (1.75 gal) (BIAB)2012-03

Amt Name Type # %/IBU
3 lbs 8.0 oz Pale Malt (2 Row) US 72.9 %
6.4 oz Roasted Barley 8.3 %
4.8 oz Barley, Flaked 6.3 %
4.8 oz Caramel/Crystal Malt - 40L 6.3 %
4.8 oz Chocolate Malt 6.3 %
0.40 oz Columbus [14.00 %] - Boil 60.0 min 55.7 IBUs
0.50 oz Cascade [5.30 %] - Boil 15.0 min 13.1 IBUs
2.00 oz Malto-Dextrine (Boil 5.0 mins) -
0.65 oz Cascade [5.30 %] - Aroma Steep 5.0 min 0.0 IBUs
1.0 pkg Safale American (DCL/Fermentis #US-05)

First mistake only put in .2 oz of Cascade at 5 min instead of .65. Why, read the recipe wrong. Bozo!

Had 80 % efficiency so numbers were high. Boil off a little to much so I added some boiled water during cooling and got my vol back to 1.75 and still am 2 points above est sg.

Tasted little and wow, the hops come across strong and then the sweetness from the barley. Should be a keeper.
It's now in the freezer going down to about 64 to ferment. :ban:
