Hi all.

I recently purchased an extract kit from my LHBS, and I started checking online outlets to see how prices differed.

Along the way, i noticed that Northern Brewer has an in-house LME that is a lot cheaper than Munton's (which is what the kit from my LHBS comes with).

For 6.6 lb's of the Munton's (at both the LHBS and Northern Brewer) it costs around $24-$26. For the same weight of the Northern Brewers malt Extract (really 6 lbs instead of 6.6 lbs), it costs $14.50!

I guess my question is becoming obvious, but here it is: Is the Northern Brewers LME of lower quality than Munton's, or is it simply lower priced because NB makes it?

If I use the NB LME in place of Munton's, would it make a lesser quality brew?

Thanks, just trying to figure out why there's a huge price difference. :mug:

Northern brewers LME is fine no less quality... I cant remeber the name of the malt supplier but it is cheaper because they buy it local
