OK, so tommorows going to be brew day, and I have everything needed for my chocolate hazelnut porter except for the hazelnut flavoring. My LHBS did not have any, and neither did the grocery store in town. So what I was wondering is that the grocery store has some "hazelnut syrup" that you are supposed to put in coffee. I was wondering if I could just substitite this instead. It is not sugar free, and I would be adding it at bottling. How much would I use if its possible?

Thanks

Order some online, many flavorings are added to the secondary/after primary fermentation. If you plan on adding at bottling you have 3-8 weeks before you really need it, Austin Homebrew and other shops have those items in stock. There is no reason to add a questionable product to your beer if you have the time to get a correct/proper item
