Hi I'm Paul
Got the girlfriend a gift certificate to BrewBakers (a local place for making your own steeped/extract brews) for her birthday and after two hours, we were hooked... here's some shots from out first brew
and of course, lots of tasting!
Sure enough I ended up with the MB setup in a gift exchange, it was on! After stumbling upon this site i didn't even give the first recipe the 'by the book' treatment.
Now I've got three 2g. primaries, bottling buckets, hydrometer, fixed thermometer, hop sacks, crimper's, more bottles around the house than I know what to do with and an entire fridge shelf dedicated to homebrews, hops and yeasties.
Next plan is to boil various hops, dme, grains, ect to educate my palate on the flavors. maybe even cook up a case of single bottle brews just to see how the yeasts alter the flavor....
Here's what I've brewed thus far>>>
MB Whispering Wheat +
- 1 Can MB Heff
- Booster
- MB Yeast
- 1 tsp coriander dry to primary
- 1/4 cup honey two weeks in
1 month primary
3/25 BOTTLED
prim w/ dex (maybe too little do to a miscalculation)
4/9 TESTER
Little carb
No head
Strong corriandor
Slightly sweet
Mouth feel consistent with dish water
Tested with more honey -, paprika -, nutmeg -, combinations all negative
4/21 TESTER
good smooth malty
little to no carb
5/1 TESTER
carb progressing
flavor very honey light
5/11 TESTER
