So I did a pale ale 3 weeks ago. OG was 1.042 and final was 1.006 so im guessing that's ok. There still seems to be a bit of yeast on the surface but it tastes pretty good. What do you guys think? Was worried it was infected but tastes good.

Looks OK to me and 3 weeks should be plenty of time but take another gravity reading in a couple days to be sure. You could always wait another week or two and that junk might settle out but I'd just bottle it up.
 
It looks like all the krausen didn't fall yet let it sit about 3 or 4 weeks and the yeast will clean up after them self
