The stout is in the second mash step as we speak! Bottling the Fat Tire today... mmmmmm smells like beer in central IN...

One of the bennies of working 3-4 days a week... this is a first, handling 2 brews in a day! The Oatmeal Stout has 1lb of chocolate malt in it, OMG it smells soooo good. It is so black and gooey!

Hey, here is the quick and dirrty of the brewday.

Initial runoff 1.075
Final Runoff 1.018
OG before boil 1.052 @ 6.5 gallons
OG after 60 min. boil 1.061 @ 5.5 gallons
Efficiency 77%
Nottingham 11g rehydrated

Mash at 120F for 30 min
Mash at 153F for 60 min
Initial runoff boiled to bring temp to 168F prior to sparge

Sparge lasted 1:15
 
10 hours later, there is life... I leave for 4 days now! I have never in my life seen anything so black or so sweet in my life!! Where there are small leaks around my fittings in my mash tun, the wort turned into a tar like substance and sealed it!! My fist stout ever, this will be interesting!
