cracked grains question

I picked up .5 Lb of munich malt that was graciously cracked for me by the LHBS on Friday.

Question. Since i'm now not able to brew this hefe until next weekend would it make sense to pick up another half pound of malt for freshness sake?

How long does cracked grain stay fresh?
 
I've never been able to tell if my crushed grains have gone "bad", but I used to store them in vacuum sealed bags in the freezer. I don't think a week would make much of a difference, but since fresher is always better, what's another couple of bucks? I think it's 50/50.
