I got my hands on some 1 1/4 inch copper pipe and fittings and set to soldering yesterday to build the heating chamber for my RIMS. When I went to screw in the element however, I found that it would touch the pipe pretty much no matter what.
Contact between element and conductive copper tubing is a total deal-breaker right? Either for heat or electrical issues I can't imagine how this can be okay. Anybody ever run into this?
