Downside to Upright Freezer Used for Kegs?

Space utilization, can't put a tower on it, driling holes in door kills resale/reuse value other than that openin it all cold air falls out
 
^^^ What he said. One downside to chest freezers is you have to lift heavy kegs over the side to get them in. Usually not a big deal.
 
Most upright freezers utilize the shelving as part of the cooling system, therefore the shelves are not adjustable and don't permit free use for the kegs. Some have had success bending the shelving / cooling coils back agains the rear wall of the fridge.

I would also imagine the top loading keezers are more "meter friendly".
 
+1 on chest freezers.
Mine runs about an hour a day to maintain 40degrees.
You can fit more kegs per SqFt in a chest freezer.
