I know it is used to clear the beer but does it affect the flavor or body of the beer? what about the bottle carbination process? doesn't it remove all the yeast?

all yeast? no. flavor? no effect. ease of bottling/transferring? awesome!!!!

it helps precipitate yeast and haze, and keep it glued to the bottom. gelatin rocks, unless you are a yeast-farmer (and it still rocks then too).

cool, so If I use it will it take longer to carbonate the beer in the bottle?

err, no. i can't say it actually has any impact on carbonation speed. really, the only thing you can do to remove all yeast is a 0.5 micron sterile filter--which neither you or I have :D

use gelatin, unless you are a vegan there aren't any drawbacks.

awsome Thanks!!!:mug:

I use it out of habit mostly and naturally prime all of my kegged beer without problem.

I find cabonation takes longer when ever I use it. Maybe 3 weeks instead of 2.
