elaborate on the Bridge of Sighs. i'm curious......

One side of the bridge is the palace, the other side a prison.

After the prisoner was sentenced he would walk (or be drug) over the bridge to the prison. From there he would get to gaze out at the sun and water and...sigh.

Most of the time this would be the last time they ever saw sunlight before death in prison.

Some people equate it to dying...leaving life and going directly to hell.

There are other interpretations as well. It's interesting. I'm glad you were curious. :D
 
cool. i did a search on Wikipedia (i'm diggin' that web site!). also a Bridge of Sighs in Oxford and Camden(?). even though not exact replica'sof the one in Venice. wow....i learned something after 4 brews......
