Is it OK to use a new women's leg stocking as a grainbag? I plan on brewing today but don't have a muslin bag nor know where to get one so I was thinkin about picking up a pair of stockings at the drug store to use...any thoughts?

I'd imagine it would work fine, but they tear pretty easily. I'd be more inclined to try and find some cheesecloth and make a bag out of that.

I think Pumbaa uses them for hop bags. You may want to double them up to make a stronger bag.

They work fine, but they do not tolerate direct heat. So, if you are steeping, shut the heat off & wait five minutes to put the bag in. When you take it out, get something under the bag to support it before removing it from the water.
