Seems odd,, all pilsner malt and saaz (going for something like Stella). Into the fermenter it looked like light pilsner with flakes of trub everywhere. 12 hrs later, fermentation looks quite slow and the wort is now dark? Is that normal for a pilsner? What happened ?

Looks perfectly normal to me. Yeast activity and the large volume block and diffuse the light making it look darker. Cover up your carboy so you can't see it and RDWAHAH.

Ask again in three months, poured from a bottle or keg into a serving glass. It looks like a full carboy right now, and not like a 12 oz beer. Things look different in a carboy.

let it go..

I did all Pils malt, but a tiny splash of carapils and all saaz. Looked close to that while fermenting, took a good 3 weeks to do so, so let it roll.

Allowed it to clear and lager for 6 weeks and it looks like this in a glass.

Just relax and let it do it's thing.
