Are you talking about something like Kingfisher lager?
 
noble hops taste weird when used in large quantities late in the boil. Use restraint especially with the KO and dry hops. Boiling produces the 'noble' refined character, so I would recommend a large addition at 30 minutes for bittering and flavour, and a small (~1oz) addition at 5 minutes.
