I am almost ready to bottle my first batch!! There are 2 things I'm unsure of; first, it was a little warmer than recommended and the fermentor was in the high 70s and low 80s, is this going to affect the beer? Also the directions say when bottling to prime the bottle with a little sugar, is this negotiable? I am wondering if it's ok to use brown sugar or honey. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!!

Answer 1: Yes, you will get more fruit flavors with a higher temp fermentation. What kind of fruit depends on the yeast you use.
Answer 2: Yes, any sugar will do but it wil effect the taste of the beer if you use honey or brown sugar. Adjust the amount depending on the fermentability of the sugar you use.
