Strange Yeast Consistency

The clumpy consistency of this yeast looks strange to me. I usually brew with wyeast, but am trying WL this time around. I usually see the yeast completely dissolved in the wort. Could this be a bad slant? It is WL002.

002 is very flocculent, it has a chunky, almost grainy appearance

There are as many odd ways yeast looks and forms, and behaves, as there are varieties of yeast out there.
