Starting out the build of my keezer. I wanted something small that I could tuck into the laundry room, so that SWMBO would not banish it to the garage. After seeing Brew2it's https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/cheapest-new-2-keg-keezer-224848/ and Heyjaffy's https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/my-version-brewit2its-cheapest-new-2-keg-keezer-229122/ versions, I knew the 5.0 is what I wanted to build.

So on black friday, picked up a 2 keg kit from kegconnection and a 5.0cf Holiday chest freezer from Lowes. Total for the 2 big items is under $350. Not a bad start.

Went to Big Orange and picked up supplies to build the collar. Wasn't totally decided if I was going to stain the collar or tile it up. I found these glass mosiac tiles on clearance for $2.98 a sheet so that made up my mind.

Pics of the collar build. The cutouts of the tiles are where the shanks are going to go.

Holes cut and shanks mocked up.

Close up of the taps. Wanted them toward the middle. I have a thing for symmetry.

Just the space I was looking for. 2 kegs, Co2 tank and 5 gallon carboy for lagering.

More to come. Next up is grout.

Nice build, I like the brown hammered finish with the tile instead of the usual black.
