From what I have read, the foam is actually beneficial in that it degrades into a yeast nutrient after time.

Anecdotally (it's a word if I use it), I have racked onto foam every time I have made beer and I haven't had a single issue with any of them. I find it eases my mind a bit to rack into a carboy filled with foam since I know there is nothing else living in it.
 
I've fermented and kegged on top of starsan for well over 100 gallons of brews since switching from iodifor. NEVER had any off tastes, smells, or any other problems. Do not fear the foam!

I LOVE the foam! It goes in my kegs, and in my fermenters, and in my kegged bottled beers, and in my spray bottles, etc, etc....

Make sure you buy the bulk sizes. StarSan goes a long way too. I only mix 1 gallon per batch.
