I have reached the point where I never use a secondary at all, but this is an ale/ pepper brew:
10 lbs 2 row American
1 oz euro 60 min
1/2 oz Citra 15 min
1/2 oz Citra 1 min
Safle US05
1 lb honey
1 lb brown sugar
12 large jalapenos sliced, added at 30 min in hop bag.
OG 1.070 ( I think I mis read that)

I have made this several times but as an extract and always used a glass secondary. It has always finished out fairly clear (no haze). It started out high OG but the peppers could have raised it too. It has been in primary 8 days and I am considering a secondary, what say ye?
Thanks, ron

It's generally a personal preference. I'm of the mind that secondary in a carboy is better if you aren't dry hopping and as long as it doesn't get to hot I don't mind leaving it in the primary vessel for the entire time.

Do you get much pepper flavor by adding them at the half hour mark or just some heat?
