Hi HBT'ers
I have always wanted to get one of these gadgets as a backup for my primary 5lb C02 tank as well as portability for my 2.5 gallon keg.

I believe you also need the flare air disconnect as well.
The problem is I have searched for a local Canadian distributer but no one seems to sell them. I would buy from an American distributer but the duty/shipping/brokerage fees make me leery.

Any Suggestions

I bought mine from paddockwood but I don't think they carry them anymore. They are definitely awesome for taking a keg with you.

Check any local bicycle shops that sell higher quality equipment. I believe they are the same as the CO2 chargers for pumping up bike tires. You do need a flared disconnect in order to use it.

I just doublechecked and I'm mistaken, sorry. The flared connection for the disconnect is much larger. However you could still rig it up easily enough with a barbed disconnect and a bike charger for less than shipping from the US I would think. A standard valve stem on the barb would do it I would think.

mr x... just checked your link..they seem to sell it...I will have to brush up on my french :)
Bradsul...Ill check with a local better bike shop in my area...Im not to keen on jerry-rigging in this type of application but I will keep this in mind as a resort.

thanks

I think that's a little pricey. There are adapters you can buy for under $20 you can put on your regulator that will allow use on paintball canisters as well as the big tank.

I have never ordered from this site before. I just got an email back from the site regarding the purchase. They use Canada post for delivery ( curious to see what that's like :) ) I called Paddockwoods to see if they might carry it along with CBS.. no luck...woodstickwines could use a little improvement in web design...but as far as customer satisfaction they get a + for responding to my email.

Cheers

Just got word back from woodstick-wines.ca
The charger+1 Co2 cartridge+quick disconnect+shipping and taxxes = $43.99

I did a little research, there is a review on this board;
https://www.homebrewtalk.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=4&cat=13

I also went out to the manufacturers web site;
http://www.genuineinnovations.com/kegprods.aspx?prodid=1027

The thing that caught my attention and possibly makes it a deal breaker was that it uses there 16 gram non threaded cartridges with there product. I called over to Canadian Tire to see if they stock this type of non threaded cartridge but they don't. Just wondering if this is a truly proprietary cartridge if so checking out the manufactures website for there cartridges would deffinately make it a deal breaker

I have one and it's definitely great for making your kegs portable. I buy the CO2 cartridges for seltzer bottles, they're only 12G (unthreaded) and they work fine.

Just got an email back from woodstick wines.
The seller confirmed that the C02 charger use to take 12 gram standard cartridges but the new only takes the 16 gram unthreaded now; http://www.genuineinnovations.com/kegprods.aspx?prodid=1027
The web page it states; NOTE: ONLY USE A GENUINE INNOVATIONS 16 GRAM NON THREADED FOOD GRADE CARTRIDGE IN THE KEG CHARGER.

Thats a deal breaker for me
