Just like the title says....anyone get their label peelers pre-order? it's going on 2 months now and nothing yet....I know it's an ag product, but it seems to go this way every year with Label Peelers. I like them, but the push back on delivery every year is starting to get old.

Hi all, I have a couple third year Centennial plants that look to be almost ready to harvest....maybe a week yet, but no more I'd say. Anyone else getting an early harvest this year? I know Centennial is ready a little sooner than some, but it's not even July yet.

Hey Guys(and Gals), I am looking to break into some sour or funk brewing. I'm trying to find a solid recipe to start out with. I'm not looking for the easiest, but one with a likely hood of turning out good. I've done some research and reading on wild brews and I have all the equip...

    Stainless, copper, or Silicone

So I'm building a single pump "stacked" system. Basically the mash tun stacked on top of the HLT which will gravity drain to the boil kettle, similar to the commercial systems. I'm going to have a manifold for the valves to control mash in, recirculation, sparge, and whirlpool(maybe counterflow...

Rollin the dice on old washed yeast

Welp....cold as hell here in PA, so I decided to pass on the outside keggle brew and pull out the old BIAB gear and do an inside brew tomorrow. I have a big gas stove that can do full boil BIAB, so screw that freezing my ass off. The one problem I've run across is that I'm out of my emergency...

Ok....so my Centennial hops have a bunch of cones that are just about ready, I might even pick some later today. I have a pretty fancy Electrolux convection oven that has a dehydrator feature on it. The lowest temp setting is 100deg which I figure is low enough, but has anyone used a...

Hop sidearm and burr question with pics

I have a couple second year Centennial that are doing good, but I've noticed that the upper sidearm laterals are pretty short and the growth tip of the laterals are turning to burrs after only 3 or 4 inches. Being new to hop growing, I'm not sure if this is normal or not. BTW...the lower...

    New Dogfish head bottles?

Maybe this has been changed for a while now, but I was at my local bar and decided to grab a Dogfish 60 min. The bartender brought it over, and low and behold it looks like a mini Belgian that uses regular size caps! It was a 12 oz bottle and had the Dogfish logo embossed in the glass. I...

    Success..Soldering fittings to keggle!

I watched a video on youtube about dimpling a vessel, and soldering stainless to stainless. Well I got the materials to do this and can say for sure it works great! I made the dimple tool, and bought the Harris stay bright solder and flux and went to work. I had the weldless bulkheads from...

    Poor belgian head retention

I have a Belgian that's been aging for about a year now. It's very close to Golden monkey in flavor, but the head retention is very poor. When first poured, the head is fantastic, but dissipates quickly. The beer itself has great carbonation...almost like Champagne.....it keeps going and going...

Ok....got a last minute day off (Wed) and want to make up a quick batch. No time to get more ingredients or make a starter. Here's what I have.... 1 pack S05...that's the only yeast. No time to dig into the yeast bank and make an adequate starter, but S05 is pretty versatile. Grain: 2...

I'm thinking of using an aluminum 40 QT as a mash tun, and I'm aware of galvanic corrosion, but has anyone done this and had a problem with it? I'm thinking bargain fittings weldless new style bulkhead that uses the large flat silicon seal. Has anyone done this and found any problems with it?

Terrapin So fresh & so green, green hop

I just picked up a bomber of this today. I was trying to score some Heady Topper at a local store that has a ton of beers, but no luck. I knew it was a long shot since they don't import to PA, but the guy there took my phone number because a friend of his goes up once a month and gets...
