I would probably be up for a couple of bags also. Getting low on 2row.

    Next piece of equipment

Well, I would probably vote for a basic wort chiller, just for the time savings alone over using an ice bath, especially if you are doing 5g+ batches.

Post mix soda on beer tower?

I own a post mix machine and have it running at my shop. If I were you, I would just mix the syrup and water in a keg and dispense it as a premix. Also, unless you can have a friend who can help you get the syrup for cheaper, there really isn't any savings in by the bag-in-a-box over picking up...

Hops: How Old Is Too Old? 2 questions

What do you do with your spent grain

Being that I normally brew at night and don't finish up until late, I usually just dump it into the kitchen trash can. If I am lucky, I will remember to take it out the next morning and if I don't, well my nose usually tells me about it around 2 days later when I get home from work.

You know you're a home brewer when?

A couple of days after brewing an all grain batch, you get home from work and know exactly what you forgot to do after brewing.

temp probe (for stc1000) to mini XLR question

Hopefully you already have this built, but if not be careful to not overheat those connectors. I have used the cheap regular xlr connectors a few times, and have found that the plastic filler around the pins has a habit of going soft about the same time that the pin is hot enough to solder to...
