    What are you drinking now?

Draining an almost full keg of English Brown that has picked up a bad smell and is starting to take on the same taste. This happened 3 weeks ago with a 1/3 full keg of Irish Red. Nor sure what is causing it. The stout and apfelwein on the same co2 tank taste fine. Afraid to put my pale ale...

WTT: 26G MoreBeer Heavy Duty Kettle

Located in central Illinois. I am testing the waters here. 4 months ago, I was set to buy the 15G Heavy Duty Kettle w/Ball Valve from MoreBeer.com. The very next day the 26G went on sale for $10 less for their deal of the day. So I went with that :) While is is GREAT having a 26G kettle...

    What are you drinking now?

Kegged and sampled my half hearted ripoff of two hearted with all cascade and some leftover 15 and 40L. Very citrusy and light. 5% and super summer ale i think. Will know more after it mellows in the garage and some cooler temps.

    Conical Draining and Negative Pressure

So I have used my conical two times now and am pleased with the outcome. However, both times, I have drained my yeast and trub and the airlock, expectedly, takes on negative pressure and even sucks in some oxygen. My experiences in homebrewing and understanding of simple elements says that CO2...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

10.5G of IPA tomorrow morn. Strike water has been filtered and prepping the gear. This will be my first brew using my new keggle hlt and march pump. Needed something to move that wort around. 28 lbs of grain is too much to lift.

    What are you drinking now?

An Irish Red and Bell's Amber Ale blend from the kegerator. Dry's out the Amber a little. The amber turned our great, but was a little sweet for my palette this aft.

    What are you drinking now?

Hit a couple Pecan Porter's while I was mashing in on my Half-Hearted IPA. An amber ale with pizza for dinner, and just picnic tapped my first ever EdWort's Apfelwein. Dry, but very smooth. Sat in primary for 2 months and straight to keg this aft. It looked great and I just had to taste...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Half-Hearted... my abstract rendition of a Bell's Two Hearted clone. Did not have 20L so i substituted 4 oz of 15L and 4 oz 40L. No Centennials, but plenty of Cascades, so there's that. And no Bell's yeast, so i used some of my harvested Munton's Premium Gold. Pleased with the final 5.5 gallons...

How long have these items been used for? I would be very interested in the Barley Crusher and March Pump w/hose. How long are the hoses? What kind of connections do you have on the hoses? I am actually travelling from Illinois up to Frankenmuth at the end of December (20th or back on the...

    809 vs 815

All of my inlets/outlets are 1/2". Well, the camlock connections are actually 1/2" OD, so smaller ID. Thanks for the feedback Walter. Any chance you can give me a recommendation on hose length? I will have all three vessels sitting within 2-3 feet of each other for the next couple months...

    809 vs 815

Is there a real big difference in flow speed? With 10g batches, am i likely to notice the increased speed of the 815? Thanks, Wes

    Pump and Tube Opinions

I am ready to drop $200 on my march pump and silicone tube. I have two questions that i would appreciate some feedback on. Given that i would like to save my back over thanksgiving while i brew a 10g or two, i would like to have the equipment here soon and online ordering is my only option for...
