Does this sound right or did I screw up?

I just kegged a 5 gallon batch of dark Belgian Ale that had been in the primary since 1-15-12. Original SG 1.104, 1.054 when racked today. I usually force carb my kegs, but thought this time I would naturally carb. I racked it into the corny and added 1/3 cup of boiled cane sugar. I sealed...

    Lines for keezer

I am a noob also, but I don't think the gas line length is any issue. As long as it reaches you c02 tank. I have 10 ft of 3/16 ID beer line and I was still having a foam issue. I just installed the 10 ft, put my c02 on 8 psi. I have a slow pour, but the foam issue went away (for the most...

    Dual tower w/o faucet

Thanks guys for the advice. I messed with it last night until I just got frustrated. I can get one nut on and tightened down, but when I put the second faucet in I can't tighten the nut down. I have both in now and one is just loose. I ordered another sigle tower from ebay for $10.00, no...

    Dual tower w/o faucet

Not sure why I can't find a replacement dual faucet tower with out the taps already installed. While converting my single tap to a dual tap I drilled the second whole too close to the other and now I can get the nut on the back. Thought no problem, I'll buy another one already drilled. Nope...

    It exploded.

I think I was minutes away from the same thing on my last batch of dark Belgian Ale. On the last two brews I re-hydrated my Nottingham yeast and noticed an increase in the airlock activity. The last batch was the worst. I always use the same sequence when brewing, but this last one almost blew...

Never truer words spoken. Well said. I know this is an old thread, but words like that need a TTT bump. I love beer.

    Kegerator conversion question/problem

You have to cut it off and put ball connector on. I had the same question when I got my kit. I called the beverage outlet and they said to cut it off, so I did. I feel better now knowing I wasn't the only person who faced that same problem. :mug:

    Non-reconditioned corneys

I have and have used non reconditioned corny's with no problems. Just use the normal sanitation method and you will be fine. The O rings are cheap. I don't think I have ever replaced them, just use keg lube or even KY (we all have plenty of that around). The large one one the lid seldom goes bad.

    Do your wives get mad?

My wife doesn't complain too much, I just don't go overboard. I have a few hobbies that are far more expensive than brewing. She knows that I work ALOT to make the money for the better of the family. Christmas weekend and I am working overtime. Building my hotrods cost way more than brewing...
