can you show your chiller/pump setup? Also where did you source the heater cores? I have a mini fridge freezer that i am thinking of going this route just to keep the fridge still usable for beverages, hop and yeast storage.
you can sterilize, but risk burning your flavor off/adding smoke to your cocktail. I would use the barrel as is with wine flavor in mind for your cocktail. All of my barrel projects effect the next (in a good way). *Disclaimer- smell/inspect your barrel . . .if it is good, use it
what's the difference between disconnecting them and taking them out and disconnecting and leaving them in? If they won't pour your beer is safe . . . who's going to lift the top of your keezer?
I've brewed plenty that I've drank, plenty that need work/something is not quite right, plenty that fall into that "free beer, COOL!" catagory, but you NOTICE when it disappears quickly. I'm sure we are all our own worst critic.
I always naturally carb/condition for 3 weeks, then jumper to a new keg without moving from where it was carb/conditioning. Very easy and once chilled has very little sediment.

I never get grass with dry hopped keg in fridge, but at room temp anything over 5 days starts to take on fresh cut grass flavors, and not the good kind
That's what i do, have one of those power strip wheels that has the gfci built in. Acts as extension/switch/gfci can't ask for much more. Screwed my pump down to small piece of wood, you are going to be happy. Would also recommend the camlocks.
