    when's the best time to add lactose? I see some people throw it in at the boil, some at bottling, what's the difference? thanks

    sierra nevada hoptimum

    has anyone here tried it yet? I got 3 24oz bottles right now and im cooling one in the fridge to enjoy in a few hours. What do you guys think? From what I know, this is a very limited beer. If I like what I taste later, i'm gonna pick up more before they're gone forever.

    how can I increase the abv, but keep the ratio the same?

    hey guys, i have a beer that I want to increase the OG from 1.064 by an additional 1% abv. But I want to keep the ratio of the grains the same... all it is, is two-row 11 lbs. and crystal 40L 1 lbs. I want to bring it up a bit, but I don't want the flavor to change.

    how does nottingham yeast behave?

    Big beer gravity reading and champagne yeast

    just took a gravity reading on my belgian quad. Its been 3.5 weeks and this is the first gravity reading I've done since I got it in the fermenter. its at 1.022 and the est. abv is 10.87% is it a good idea to use lalvin ec1118 champagne yeast when I go to bottle this?

    3 weeks and still bubbles from tube...normal?

    big belgian quad..its been 3 weeks exactly today.. OG 1.105, still getting a bubble every 5 seconds from the blowoff tube. Is this normal? As long as i'm getting activity in the blowoff tube it's not done yet right?
