Corked bottles - corks pushed in too far.

Greetings Folks, Long time member who unfortunately had to take a long break from brewing. Back now, and I just bottled a sour beer that had been sitting for a few years. I've never done much bottling. I put the sour into 750ml and 375ml bottles. The corker I was using pushed the corks...

    ordering grain online??

I've ordered from Brewmasters Warehouse a few times. Great site. If you order as a recipe, you'll get one big bag. If you just add separate grains to your cart and checkout, you'll get individual bags.

Unintentional aging experiment: 7 weeks in primary,, oops!

I have a crazy lambic/quad hybrid I brewed on Christmas 2010 still sitting in primary. :P You'll be fine.

    No Boil

I made a very tasty berliner by doing a flash pastuerization after the mash, just bringing it up to 180 degrees. Threw the lid on the kettle, and let it naturally cool. The next day I racked into the fermenter, warmed it up a bit with a heat belt, and then pitched a lacto culture. Let the...

    Brew Day = Good Times

I almost always brew alone. I've had people pop in, but rarely do they help. They mostly just stand around and watch.

    Homebrew Contest Winners!

They were available for pickup after the judging. They will mail them to you if you didn't pick them up. Unfortunately, I'm very serious.

    Homebrew Contest Winners!

Congrats to the winners. I will no longer be participating in this competition, as my berliner weisse got scored 1/10 in taste for being sour, and having no perceptible alcohol.

I may do Satans' work on Earth, but I don't put his name on my business card. Ave Satanas! :P

Need Pliny - Do me a solid?

Chambers Discount Liquor doesn't, as far as I know. Limited just by what's on the shelf. Davidsons most likely does.

    Guzzle or Nurse

Dump it, 9 times out of 10. I have no desire to consume beer I don't enjoy. I'm not that cheap or desperate for a buzz.

Need Pliny - Do me a solid?

Argonaut is good. Chambers Discount Liquor in Aurora has it occasionally. Davidsons, I believe, has it occasionally.

Need Pliny - Do me a solid?

Let me see what I can find locally. I haven't seen Pliny around in a while, but I haven't looked very hard lately. If you can't/don't want to order from that site, I'd be happy to help you out.

Year old sour beer on cake/trub, making second batch

The carboy has sat in room with an ambient that bounces around 62-68 degrees. The yeast cake doesn't appear to look brown, and according to lambic information I've read, the brett and bugs feed on the breaking down yeast and trub, and helps provide complexity. I suppose, worst case scenario I...

Year old sour beer on cake/trub, making second batch

Last Christmas, I brewed an experimental 5 gallon batch of beer. It's a hybrid lambic/quadruple that will be eventually aged on oak and cherries. Fermented with Roselare and dosed with Consecration, Supplication, and Drie Fonteinen dregs through out the year. As of right now, the beer is...
