    My first brew

Ahh gotcha, and for advice, I always put on a blow off tube for the first 3 days to avoid foam overs, sometimes a real active batch will still come out the tube, but much easier clean up than foaming out the airlock

    New Guiness

Wake me up if they decide to ship kilkenny our way, otherwise, I am not that interested with any guiness beer TBH

    My first brew

The rate of bubbles coming out will vary with amounts and types of sugars in the wort and more importantly, the strain of yeast. It is not a good indicator of anything TBH. I have done light Hefes that bubble and foam up like crazy, and a pretty strong doppelbock I poked at with a stick to see...

How fast do you consume 5 gallons of home brew?

Simple fix, carboys are cheap, brew three to four weeks in a row. You get a variety and will have enough to last you for awhile, by the time you are down to around 7-8 gallons left, repeat process

    Deschutes Clones

Deschutes is awesome, they make a very good representation of every beer they make. If you like a style, you will like their version of it. Red Chair, black butte, Abyss and Hop henge are 4 big stand outs for me.

BEST/WORST thing anyone has ever said about your own HB?

Worst was "Hmph" no feedback whatsoever, I would have rather heard them ask me if I fermented this in the bowels of a dead pig than nothing. If you don't like it, at least tell me why!! Best- "Damn this is good, it is like an angel peed in a cup and handed to me" I hang out with sick...

Coors light!! There is a time to drink it!!!

I will try to get him to do it again tonight, the hose comes out tomorrow And for the people who say it is stupid, if you have not had a beer or buzz in two months and have been denied any type of taste for 3 weeks while being stuck at home going stir crazy, you just might do the same. He...

    Well now what?

Try to shake and agitate the yeast first and give it more time. Add more yeast later if you must. Just try to minimize the exposure to oxygen Also, start doing starter kits for your yeast, especially if you are doing big beers. I also suggest switching to wyeast smack packs if you can over dry...

    possible screw up?

Wow, that is low for an OG. 1st, did you let the wort cool before taking a reading? And 2nd, what is the recipe? How much DME and specialty grains did you add?

    Beer History Sites

Whenever I think I like beer more than anyone else, I come here and find Revy. I picture Revy having one of those car beds except it is a beer truck full of craft brew kegs and he spends his nights on the plastic CB attached to the bed teaching the other beer truck bed drivers how to properly...

Coors light!! There is a time to drink it!!!

Well, sort of drink. My buddy got out of surgery for cancer in his tongue, they sliced a chunk of it out, and grafted a piece of his arm on his tongue. Since his tongue needed time to heal and also due to threat of his tongue swelling up (which it did) he has been eating through a tube through...
