Visiting Wisconsin - What beers to try?

Another vote for New Glarus Staghorn. Ale Asylum's Bedlam is fantastic, but might be hard to find right now.

I usually do a late addition, but just to be safe I will add it at the beginning.

    Boiling pilsen malt extract

I'm doing a partial mash and need to add Pilsen dried malt extract. Does Pilsen malt extract need to be boiled for 90min like Pilsen malt to remove DMS? I'm guess not, but thought I would check. Thanks

Kuhnenn brewery Creme Bru La was easily the best beer there. Unbelievable.

Black Bavarian is a great beer. Dark Lord is in the program as a special release, so it might be very limited.

First Time at Great Taste of the Midwest

I'm pretty excited for my first Great Taste of the Midwest experience. Any suggestions on which Breweries I should hit up while still semi-sober? I plan on getting there when the gates open and head straight to the Real Ale Tent. I am also going to make an effort to get to the Dragonmead...

    Oktoberfest Party: What to brew?

There is a recipe for making a Helles using ale yeast somewhere in the recipe data base. I think it is under light hybrid beers.

    First year hop question

Good to hear. Hopefully it can push through another shoot soon. She told me that she thought it was pot growing in our strawberry patch. :)

    First year hop question

I planted some hops a few weeks ago and the cascade came up last week and were 5in as of yesterday. Unfortunately my wife thought it was a weed and pull the stem off. The rest of the rhizome is still in the ground. Will I get another shoot off of this rhizome or do I need to plant a new one? Thanks
