    Refrigerator Freezing Up

No ice maker. Fridge is a commercial cooler similar to what you see on the left side image of the following link: http://www.beverage-air.com/Main.aspx?pid=14&tab=15

Thanks. Think my next step is a fan over the coils.

    Refrigerator Freezing Up

Air leak was my first thought since the icing is definately related to higher humidity conditions (air inside the cooler shouldn't change if it's fully sealed). THat being said, all of the seals and doors are nice and tight so there's no air leaks that I can find. There is no auto defrost on...

    Refrigerator Freezing Up

Thanks. Everything is internal to the cooler...maybe I'll drop a small fan in to circulate air around and see if that keeps the fins dried out.

    Refrigerator Freezing Up

Hi - I have a 2 door beverage air display cooler I use to keep my kegs in. Fridge has been in the garage for quite a few years without issue. In the last couple of years the evaporator coil ices up during the hottest summer months during the monsoon season when the humidity kicks up (we're in...

    Wine Refrig for Fermenting Lagers?

Curious if anyone has used a wine refrig for primary ferment of lagers? Instead of putting an external thermostat on a regular fridge I was thinking that a good sized wine fridge would be a good cooler. They look like many will hold temps anywhere from 45 - 65 degrees. Have seen quite a few on...

    Lagering Question

    Lagering Question

Just moved a Raspberry Lager from the secondary to a corny keg for lagering. It spent about 10 days in the primary (58 degrees); 3 weeks in the secondary prior to kegging (36 degrees). Was planning to let it rest for a few more weeks in the keg (36 degrees) before tapping. I purged the keg of...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Getting ready to do my first batch of cider and had a few questions: -To use apple juice or cider. Which works best? -How much hops? The recipe says .5 ounce 6AAUs. Is that a total of 6 AAU's in the batch or .5 ounce of 6AAU hops? -Should I bag or strain out the hops before putting it in the...

Partial Grain Brew split into 2 sessions?

I'm going for it. Doing the mini mash right now. Will sparge, bump temp up past 170 then put it into the cooler until tomorrow morning at which time I'll add the rest of my water, extracts and boil away. Think it should be fine.

Partial Grain Brew split into 2 sessions?

Planning to do a partial grain batch this weekend, but a little short on time to get everything done. Has anyone tried mashing your grains a day ahead of time (like Friday night), putting the wort in the fridge and the continuing with the process the next day (Sat morning) with my extracts?
