2V SS Brewtech Brewing System Review Page

Just did my first batch this past weekend. I have a Chapman tun. I also purchased the 4.5' extension cord for the far right vessel, along with a whirlpool valve. I am very pleased so far. I did receive one tri clamp that was bent, but other than that the system is excellent.

    Bottling a brett saison

I have a saison that had a SG of 1.046 and fermented down to 1.004. I split the 5 gallon batch into 2 different beers. I kegged 2.5 gals for straight saison and I then racked the other 2.5 to secondary where I added Brett for a few months. I want to bottle this Brett saison. Now that the beer is...

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

I just finished my single tier rig. I purchased most of the 80/20 extruded from eBay. Much cheaper than buying direct, but this 80/20 stuff is awesome. Single chugger pump, 2 Blichmann burners, 10 gal. cooler mash tun, Duda plate chiller.

    Victory Brewery

We have a running joke at work, that many of us have disrespected the 'monkey'. Golden Monkey is a deceivingly easy beer to drink.

    Victory Brewery

I think Victory is easily the best local brewery. Iron hill is OK, but Victory is still better. The growler is going to get my ESB in this weekend. It should ready for a Halloween party this weekend.

    Victory Brewery

Went to Victory in Downingtown Friday. Place is great, so many beers on tap. I missed the brewery tor, but would really like to check it out. Place is in the middle of nowhere. About 12 taps and 2 hand pumps. Every beer was very good as was the food. Took a growler home, and its one of the best...

    Finally, Pliny the Elder

I just finished the last of my Pliny clone in my keg. To be honest I could not taste a difference between the original. Not to blow my own horn... but... toot toot. Not hard to make, and easily the best beer I brewed. It is so hard to find in PA . Capones in norristown has the younger usually...

    Hop substitution

Going to brew an ESB this weekend. I have a decent recipe for a Fullers clone, but my local HBS doesn't have every hop I need. I found some substitution charts, but was wondering if you have used these as decent subs: Northdown sub is Northern Brewer Target sub is Fuggle Any thoughts?

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Doing 5 Gal ESB. Loosely based on Fullers.

first time with a keg set up....and issues with keg lid seal

Try sticking a penny under each leg of the lid. Also maybe some food grade lube on the o ring.

Keeping a keezer in the garage...

Newer refrigerators don't like the outside temp too cold. Older frigs seem to work better. If you do a search on the particular model, check the outside temp operating ranges.

    brewmasters warehouse

I ordered all my ingredients for a Pliny type clone, crush was great, order was good. The only problem I had was, I ordered 2 vials of yeast with cold packs, and they arrived warm. Not a huge deal, I just went to my local home brew shop and picked more up. I like the flat rate shipping, as well...

    Pliny the elder clone

I just tasted mine from the keg last night for the first time. I added it at the beginning of the 90 minute boil. My color actually looks dead on. I was a little worried about several aspects of this beer, but man, did it really come out great. I added 1lb. corn sugar at 90 mins.
