    1/2" NPT Swivel Hose Barbs

After a very long time searching for something like this, I have finally found it. You can use these on the end of your hoses that connect to 1/2" NPT threads anywhere in your system. They have a swivel like a garden hose connector to make it easy to put on and off. I bought them specifically...

    Imperial Stout... kitchen sink beer

Trying to use up a lot of little remnants of grains I have laying around, put this together in beersmith. I guess it would qualify as an imperial stout. I think it will be ok, but I was curious to see if anyone had any input on this thing. I guess mainly I am worried about the amount of...

New Perlick Model 525PC at Kegconnection?

I was browsing kegconnection.com and came across a new Perlick model that I have not heard of before. Google gave no information about it and there is no info on the perlick site either. Its $21.95, much cheaper than any other Perlick model, chrome plated. Does anyone have any info about this...

Anyone know what this kind of glass is called?

Besides goblet or chalice, is there a proper name for a glass like this? They're about 12oz. All I've been able to find is that most of them were made by the Federal Glass Company in the 70s. Libbey had a similar design in the 70s with square corners instead of round. I really like them as...

Yet another hop stopper / filter idea

Has anyone ever constructed/found a large scale version of something like this? or It would have to be large enough to fill the entire pot/kettle and also fit an immersion chiller inside of it. You would just throw all of your hops in the boil and chill like normal, and then pull the...

    Dry stout, stuck fermentation...

Well, it finally happened to me. Brewed a dry stout a few weeks ago, pitched Wyeast Irish Ale from a starter, all appeared to be going fine. Had what looked like a nice fast fermentation at about 65 degrees, however after two weeks I checked the gravity and it was at 1.020. I roused up the...

Dry stout- ready in 2.5 weeks?

Going to visit some friends in a couple weeks and I would like to bring a keg of dry stout with me. It'll be a pretty basic guiness-like dry stout at about 1.045 or 1.050. I usually let most of my beers sit 3 or 4 weeks in primary/secondary before touching them, so i'm unfamiliar with quick...

    Cherry-Burrell "Corny" kegs?

I just picked up a corny keg. It's made by cherry-burrell and used to contain Seven Up. It's a ball lock and my hoses fit fine on it. It also has a little indentation at the bottom of the keg where the dip tube hits the bottom. I think it will work fine, just curious if anyone else has one...

4 volumes of CO2 in regular beer bottles?

I just bottled up a dunkelweizen yesterday. I overestimated how much beer I had and now I've ended up with beer that will have about 4 or 4.1 volumes of CO2 in it. This is not outside of the style guidelines of 3.6 to 4.5, but it is higher than I have ever used. I bottled half of the batch in...

    $110 for 62 quart (15.5 gallon) pot?

Someone I know has a pretty nice stainless steel 62 quart pot they want to sell for $110. Its practically brand new. Pretty sure its a Bayou Classic 1060. Is this a decent deal, or is there something better out there (other than a keggle)? I currently boil in a 7.5 gallon aluminum pot that...

More yeast neccessary when using isinglass?

I am going to be bottling a brew that I plan on using isinglass on in the near future. I'm using Wyeast 1007 German Ale on the beer. Will I have to add more yeast to the bottling bucket to get the bottles to carb? If so, how do I go about doing this, and will dry S-04 do the job if i need to?

    Black Rye?

Has anyone ever brewed a black rye, something like Founders Black Rye? I've been looking all over the place for some sort of recipe, but I've been unable to find anything.
