    Been busy for a while.

Hi, guys!! I'll be ordering more beer kits soon! Been a very bad winter here in Boston last month from January 25th, as you might have found out. :mug:

    Making Another Batch of Beer!

Actually, they're not so little. Hah!! The older one will be 13 in April, and his younger brother whose birthday is in December, he'll be 11. The younger one likes to cook & bake, so he always likes to help in the kitchen with the cooking. He's big for his age because he's the chubby one! He...

    Making Another Batch of Beer!

The manual says to taste a small sample of the beer just before bottling, to make sure that the sweetness is all gone out of it. Yes I plan to order a hydrometer, but I just can't right now. I'll probably do it when I order more beer batches. :mug:

    Making Another Batch of Beer!

Hi, everyone! I've been away for a while and haven't had much time to chat here. I was on a two month hiatus. Two of my grand nephews were here with me for part of the summer, and they definitely are a handful!! They kept me quite busy! They've gone back to Georgia now. They want to come...

    Hi, I'm back!!

These kids aren't really bad. They just spend too much bloody time arguing & bickering at each other, and over even the smallest things!! It was getting old fast!! Whether they're playing a card game, at the park, using the computer or using their toys. From the time on the way up here...

    Hi, I'm back!!

Sorry, but I just don't believe in that type of disciplining. We were always beaten with a belt or switch when we did something wrong as kids, and it was so brutal and old!! Beating a child does not get you anywhere. Our mom used to embarrass the crap out of us by coming out to look for us...

    Hi, I'm back!!

These two boys absolutely LOVE their toys, their tablets and other things that they deem so dear & close to their hearts. They truly have fun with them! Also, they love to go to the park, theme parks, movies and the museums. So I thought; How do I discipline these two bickering boys without...

    Hi, I'm back!!

That is just how THIS boy is!! He IS a very nice person otherwise, and he's very kind, courteous and friendly. But like Baby Huey or The Incredible Hulk, he gets ragingly mad and wants to fight when his buttons are pushed to the breaking point!! He's also very brutally straightforward &...

    Hi, I'm back!!

Yeah, as I said, my 2 grand nephews are a handful. Most of the time, they just wouldn't get along! They argued & bickered between themselves a lot! I had to separate them a lot. The younger brother is larger than the older one, and this boy, when he's pushed too far, he will start balling up...

    Hi, I'm back!!

Hi, Everyone! I've returned to the forum! I took about a two-month hiatus for a while. Been on vacation to Washington & Georgia, brought back my 2 grand nephews who live in Georgia. They spent the first month of their summer vacation here with me, and they loved it so much that they...

My 2nd batch of beer has been bottled!

Are they the screw-on plastic caps? :mug:

    Still fermenting?

Started another batch last week. Still fermenting, it seems. :mug:

    Exploding Bottles!

The "exploding" of the bottles can also come from adding too much priming sugar to the bottles. The trick is to stay within the guidelines as to the recommended same amount of sugar for each bottle, and do not go over that, or else you will be experiencing it again. :mug:

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

Yeah, on my Brewdemon fermenter, the manual says to to add a gallon of filtered cold water to the fermenter first, then the hot wort, and then another gallon or so of cold filtered water up to the 8.5-qt mark. Doing it this way also helps keep the fermenter from being deformed or warped as a...

My 2nd batch of beer has been bottled!

Nah man, I'm straight. I think I'm happy with the system that I'm presently using. :ban:

My 2nd batch of beer has been bottled!

Thanks! I like doing it this simple inexpensive way, instead of having to buy all that astronomically expensive industrial equipment that takes up tons of room in the kitchen!! I could never afford that anyway! Too complicated and there would seem to be much more to go wrong! :mug:

My 2nd batch of beer has been bottled!

Could be, but one thing sets them apart. The caps for the Mr. Beer bottles are white. The caps for Brewdemon's bottles are black. They all probably get their bottles from the same supplier, but with different color caps. And frankly, I like the black caps much better than the white ones...

My 2nd batch of beer has been bottled!

The hard apple cider is still in the fermenter, & it must stay there for at least a week until fermenting is done, or a few days over. I'll taste-test it to see. If it tastes flat with no sweetness, then it will be ready for bottling. But there still might be some sweetness there, since the...

My 2nd batch of beer has been bottled!

The batch is Evil Pilsner and the bottles are all 1-liter each. :mug:
