    Oxygenated bottled water

My company had a few of these, not sure whether this could save a lot of trouble for aeration? Just dump 1 or 2 bottles into the brew at the end?

Finally, I had a chance to drink a 5 month old brew

One of my friends had a single bottle of a brew I made about 4-5 months ago. He had it hidden in one corner of his house and forgot about it. So when he found it, he brought it back and we had a drink. And for those who says that aged beer taste better, I have to say, you are absolutely...

    Steeping grains vs Mini-mash

I started reading up on steeping grains and somehow I found out about this process called the mini-mash. But being a beginner, I discovered that it can be rather confusing to understand the difference between the two. Steeping grains is only for speciality grains and it tends to add flavour...

    Iodophor question

Hey guys, I recently purchased a bottle of Iodophor and I was wondering whether I can prepare the mixture first and whether it can keep? The instructions said to mix 1/4 capful with 500ml of water and spray on all the surface. I was thinking of preparing the mixture a week or so before the...

    Making your own yeast nutrients

I was just wondering whether it is possible? What are the ingredients in yeast nutrients? I normally don't use Yeast nutrients in my wort and if I need I just boil a little baker's yeast. The result was very furious fermentation. But it should be more than just dead yeast right?

    Wyeast Ringwood Ale Yeast

Have anyone tried this strain before? I had done a Blue Mountain Lager using Morgan's Blue Mountain Lager kit and lager malt extract but I used the Wyeast Ringwood Ale Yeast instead of the yeast provided. However, just over a day, my airlock stopped bubbling and the krausen disappears. Is it...

Anyone tried using Fructose as their priming sugar before. Saw them stocking fructose in the health food store and I was wondering whether they are better than normal table sugar? And anyone tried using Fructose as an adjunct before? Slightly cheaper than Dextrose.

In the primary for 4 weeks

Anyone tried doing it this way before? I have my pale ale in the primary for 4 weeks and then I will do the bottling this weekend. Do you guys think that there will too much yeasty flavours from the dead yeast? I am keeping the temp at 18-22 degrees celsius.

    Slight sour taste in beer

Hi guys, I had brewed Cooper's Australian Pale Ale and it comes to me that there is a slight sour flavour in the beer. Not very much, but still when I drink it, I can taste a little sour taste. Any idea where I went wrong? Improper sanitization?

Using Inverted Sugar instead of Cane Sugar

Will there be a cidery taste that everyone talks about if you use the inverted sugars instead of cane sugar? And I read that a lot of belgian beers use inverted sugar as an adjunct so I was wondering what's the advantage of using inverted sugar instead of other adjuncts like dextrose?
