For Sale (Denver, CO) - Full Grain Mill Setup

Greetings all - I am hoping to sell my grain mill. It's a monster mill grain mill. I can't remember if it is a MM2 or MM3 (probably MM2) but it is with two rollers. I have probably only used it 3-4 times before I had to leave the hobby. I am asking $100 for the entire setup (motor included)...

Kegging Sanke w/o Cold Side Oxidation

Recently participated in a HomeBrew competition and was knocked down for oxidation presumably on cold side. I usually ferment now in sanke kegs and use a siphon /gravity feed into another sanke. can anyone suggest better ways to move my beer? I’m using just a standard number 10 cap on my sanke...

    Motor Shaft Coupling Help

Hey fellas I've determined that my malt muncher motor uses a 12mm shaft and my MM grain crusher uses a 1/2in shaft. I am having all kinds of trouble finding a coupling though that will adapt US to metric. I've seen a few other people with this build. Can anyone share their specs or source for...

Stuck Fermention - Repitched. How long?

I had a stuck fermentation with a gravity around 1.032 - pitched some SF-05 to get down to 1.013ish How long would you say that I need to actually wait for the yeast to ferment and clean up? I've never had a stuck fermentation before and repitched. Do I honestly need to wait an additional 30 days?

    Kegco Kegerator - Line Question

Kegco sends me a kegerator with lines about 5 ft maybe 6 ft max. Any of you fellow brewers with commercial kegerators, - do you pop on your own 10 footers? I’ve always used 10 footers in my DIY days and I really don’t want to replace these lines (because they’re already connected and it’s...

    Stuck Fermentation Screwup

Could use the communities help here. I screwed up on my last brew. Made Revys Belgian Leffe Blonde Clone and it was near the end of winter here in Denver CO and it was admittedly cold in my basement. My fermentation stuck at 1.03 - target was around 1.010ish. Here’s the kicker - I had to...

Northern Brewer 20% off - When????

Do any of you bargain hunters know the periods of the year when Northern Brewer offers their 20% off discount? I’m guessing maybe Father’s Day is next? I’m looking to make a pretty enormous purchase (~3k) and want to time it appropriately. If there’s any other deals out there that compete...

    Grainfather Deluxe (w/ Glycol) Question

Considering getting the grainfather deluxe withe the glycol chiller just curious if anyone has used the chiller to work off their tap tower as well? I'm guessing this wouldn't be a problem and would be a simple mod, but just wondering if anyone's already done that.

    Latest fermenter technologies?

Hey fellas Just getting back into the brewing game after having a son last year. It’s been about two years since I last brewed. My biggest ask is this - are there any new fermenter technologies out there that allow you to both cool/heat carboys and hold temperature reasonably well (ie not a...

    Basil / Ginger Flavors

Trying to get basil and ginger flavor into a saison. We did both at flameout but taste is gone after primary. Was thinking of adding just chopped ginger in secondary and maybe a basil tea of some sort. Any experience out there on this?

    Porter + Lactose = ?????

I have a beer that I love and have made several times - a chocolate coconut porter. On the last batch I decided to make it a little creamier and put some lactose into the batch. Does this make it a stout? It probably doesn't make it "anything" in BCJP guidelines, but I am curious on your...

Coconut Secondary - Suggestions for Backsweetening?

Cider's fermenting in my basement right now. For secondary I am going to put it on 2 lbs of coconut for 2-3 weeks. Any suggestions on backsweetening? I thought about .5 gallon of pineapple juice but every time I backsweeten with a heavy juice it just sinks to the bottom in the keg. I...

    Belgians and Temp Control

This may be a rhetorical question but do you guys find that holding constant temps on Belgians is absolutely necessary? I have a fermentation vessel that I use (controlled water bath, can dial in to temp within +/- 1 degree, etc etc etc....) I just moved into a new house and I don't have my...
